It’s March 1st and spring has come on cue, what a gorgeous day! My crocuses (or should that be croci?) agree; here they are in full bloom enjoying the sun.

Just back from an excellent evening at Loseley Park in Guildford, Surrey photographing the Royal Surrey Hospital Doctors’ Masquerade Ball. Here’s a slideshow of a few event photos from evening. A very friendly bunch, made my job very easy, thanks guys!

Prom Event Photos

Here’s a slideshow of a few event photos from Prom evening in Bromley, Kent. I started off the evening with couple and group portraits as well as some more natural reportage photos. Later in the evening I didn’t have to persuade anyone up on to the dance floor, they were all more than happy making shapes well into the night!

Helen & Adam’s Wedding | Horsley Towers

Helen and Adam had a beautiful winter wedding at Horsley Towers in Surrey. We had a lovely crisp winter’s day, with blue skies and gorgeous light. A few of my favourites…

I love to capture all the details at a wedding. The combination of beautiful shoes, window sill and golden winter light all came together in the photo below, perfect!

(The sun burst was done in camera by the way, no photoshop required! Email me if you’d like to know the technique.)

Excellent first dance, well done guys! Love the movement and colour in this one.

Lindsay & Brian’s Wedding | Epsom Downs

A lovely winter wedding at Epsom Downs Race course in Surrey. Lindsay & Brian got married in the Queen’s Stand, lovely venue and fantastic views over the snowy race course. Special mention must go to Fergus, Lindsay’s brother for the music during the signing of the register, absolutely brilliant, and everyone was joining in the sing-song. You’ll see Lindsay and Brian laughing during the signing below. Everyone was enjoying it so much that the registrar had to quieten us all and remind us that the witnesses need to come and sign too, otherwise the marriage wouldn’t be legal!

When I suggested a walk through the snow to get some photos with the lovely golden sunset in the background I was expecting an “are you joking?!”. Instead, Lindsay lifted her dress and walked through the snow in open toed shoes to get the shot, thanks guys!

We know who’s number 1 in this marriage… Brian politely went and stood by “2nd”!

I wondered what everyone oop north was talking about when the said they were snowed in and couldn’t get to work. Now it’s moved down to us I can see what they’re talking about!

Some of you may have already noticed the gradual change, but I have made all the final tweaks, and IC Photos is now Ian Olsson Photography! Any links from the old site will automatically redirect to the new one, so let me know if there’s something you can no longer find and I’ll reload it for you. I’ll be adding more pages and useful information over the coming months.

Please leave your feedback in the comments section below. If there is anything I’ve missed or you think would look better, let me know.

Happy New Year!

My first post of the new decade! Looking forward to a fantastic year with lots of fun photo shoots booked in already. Saw these guys making this in Bristol during a New Year’s Day wander. Went back a couple of hours later when it was finished. Got lots of great grafitti shots for future posts.

Cinderella Panto Production Photos

The full house was in fine form for the opening night of Cinderella at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking (oh yes they were!). It’s a fantastic show, very sparkly and glittery with all the usual boos, hisses and laughs. Cinderella is being played by the lovely Joanna Page, the Baron is Michael Aspel, Jon Lee as the prince and Tucker as Buttons. There’s even an appearance from real live ponies and Angelina Ballerina (of course, this was my favourite bit!).
